POS

Point of Sale
Quick definition: A terminal that takes payment at the point of sale — a system that manages daily sales, inventory, and customer data.

Classic POS vs. modern POS

Classic POS: A device that only accepts card payments and prints receipts. Common in most corner stores.

Modern POS: A tablet/touchscreen system that combines payment + inventory + customer data + reporting. Square, Shopify POS, Foriba POS in Turkey.

Systems on Onremo typically take the modern POS approach — managing not just payment but the whole sales process.

Where it's used

Restaurant: Table-based orders, kitchen screen integration.

Retail: Barcode scanning, stock decrement, customer card.

Salon: Service selection, package sales, loyalty points.

E-commerce: Unified online + physical store management (omnichannel).

POS requirements in Turkey

YN ÖKC (New Generation Payment Recording Device) is mandatory in certain sectors — restaurants, cafes, retail, etc. It connects online to GIB; e-Adisyon issuance is automatic.

Systems on Onremo like Masa Yönetim and Atelier Studio are YN ÖKC compatible.
